Document Description
The project consists of 33 acres of treatment on 36 water infrastructure facilities, located in both Placer and El Dorado Counties and within the North Tahoe Public Utility District, Tahoe City Public Utility District, and South Tahoe Public Utility District. Each individual treatment area would consist of a 100-foot-wide buffer around all structures and a 10-foot-wide buffer along roads within treatment site boundaries. All activities proposed by the project would take place within these 100- and 10-foot boundaries

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would implement a vegetation management plan to address wildfire risk to high-priority water infrastructure sites. All fuel management/treatment activities proposed would occur within 100 feet of structures located in each identified treatment area, or within 10 feet of a roadway. As such, the project is consistent with the Example (i) of the Class 4 Categorical Exemption. None of the exceptions that would prevent the use of a categorical exemption per CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply to the project.
