Activities to remove invasive French Broom (Genista monspessulana), Portuguese Broom (Cytisus striatus), and Silver Wattle (Acacia dealbata) resprouts will improve native habitat and reduce the risk of fire on the San Lorenzo Valley Water District's (SLVWD) Olympia Watershed property. The activities involve targeted removal of these invasive plants using hand labor. Removal will follow the guidelines in SLVWD's Invasive Brooms and Acacia Management Plan, Integrated Pest Management Policy, and USFWS endangered species recovery permit. Overall, the activities will have a positive impact on native habitat for rare, threatened, and endangered species.
