Document Description
The project involves the construction of a 4.6-mile bicycle and pedestrian facility, including the addition of Class IV protected bike lanes and buffered bike lanes on existing roads (Higuera Street from Marsh Street to Los Osos Valley Road; along Madonna Road from Higuera Street to Madonna Inn/US 101 on-off ramps; and along Bridge Street, Corrida Drive, Woodbridge Street, and King Court). The project additionally includes the following throughout the project site: intersection improvements (i.e., leading pedestrian intervals, high visibility crosswalks); the installation of high-intensity activated cross walk beacons, rectangular rapid-flashing beacons, and traffic signals; curb ramp upgrades; construction of permanent median islands and neighborhood traffic circles in streets within residential neighborhoods to increase safety; and a pedestrian plaza at the intersection of Walker Street and Pacific Street.
