Document Description
The County of Sonoma has proposed the 2024-25 storm damage repair projects at Cavedale Road (Postmile 11.11 & Post Mile 11.23), located near Agua Caliente, California. The Project will be funded by local funds and undertaken by the Sonoma County Department of Public Infrastructure. The purpose of the Project is to repair portions of Cavedale Road at approximately Postmiles 11.11 & 11.23 that failed during the 2024-25 storms and flooding. The County proposes to repair approximately 90 feet of roadway along Cavedale Road at PM 11.11 and approximately 120 linear feet on Cavedale Road at PM 11.23. The project proposes to construct storm damage slide repair work along Cavedale Road at Post Mile 11.11 and Post Mile 11.23. The work includes reconstructing the downslope roadway embankment by excavating native soil and establishing subgrade benching, placing rock slope protection and fabric, placing grouted rock slope protection, a fully grouted keyway, drainage improvements, guardrail, and finally reconstructing the roadway structural section of aggregate base and asphalt concrete and other items of work needed to restore the road to a functional condition. The work at Post Mile 11.11 also includes a 90 feet length soldier pile retaining wall with concrete lagging. Limited tree removal is also required to facilitate the work. The project has 60 working days, which is a construction duration of roughly 3 months.
