Document Description
The project will assist at least 75 households throughout Amador County who would otherwise be unable to afford or complete work on their own to treat the area within 100 feet surrounding their homes to Defensible Space standards. Contracted crew(s) will cut and chip shrubs and small trees, prune tree branches, apply herbicide, rake and relocate/remove vegetative debris, and apply other treatments as necessary to reduce hazardous fuels. In addition, at least 25 hazard trees will be felled and bucked or chipped.

This project fits within Categorical Exemption Class 4: minor alterations to land. Fuel management activities will occur within 100 feet of structures as required by Public Resources Code 4291 of Government Code 51182. Activities will not impact threatened or endangered species or result in significant erosion or sedimentation.
