The purpose of the project is to improve safety conditions for vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic on Girvan Road Bridge and to improve the hydraulic capacity of Olney Creek at the bridge. The project proposes to replace the existing bridge with a 109-foot-long, three-span, 52-foot-wide, continuous concrete slab on intermediate pile bent supports and pile supported diaphragm abutments. An existing 12-inch-diameter steel waterline, a 4-inch telecommunication duct, and a 24-inch sanitary sewer jumper pipeline, each on the downstream edge of the existing bridge deck slab, will be relocated to the downstream edge of the new bridge deck slab.
