Document Description
The project consists of nine livestock watering systems to be improved or constructed. Each system is within farmed fields and farmsteads; comprising 1 acre each. All systems will be limited to small trenches, gravel pads and troughs, well drilling, pump and power installation and storage tanks. Benefits will be to environmental instream fishery values.

Reasons for Exemption
Public Resources Code, Division 13, Chapter 6, Article 19, Section 15304 allows minor alteration of vegetation. Minimal ground disturbance is expected from this project. A current CNDDB and USFWS search was conducted. The project as proposed will not have a negative impact upon any listed species of plant or animal with potential to be found within the project area. The project as proposed is not expected to result in a significant impact on the environment with benefits to instream fisheries. No state agency permits are needed. There will be Siskiyou County well drilling permits required. Alternative stock watering will allow landowners to voluntarily leave water in stream during critical periods and low flow conditions.
