Document Description
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power recently installed two vaults and approximately 500 feet of conduit on Alvarado St in Los Angeles, CA as part of line extension work to support a new customer. LADWP’s contractor now needs to restore the pavement over the area worked and is seeking a renewed encroachment permit from Caltrans to complete the work. The scope consists of installing 2-4 inches of asphalt grind and cap (approx. 500 ft) to restore the portion of road that was impacted during trenching activities for the vault and conduit installation.

Section 15302, Class 2 consists of replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located in the same site as that being replaced. Therefore, the replacement/repaving of an existing road surface is exempt from further review under CEQA.
