Document Description
Caltrans approves of the encroachment permit that Long Beach Utilities Department, Gas and Engineering proposes a valve replacement in kind within the same location at the intersection of Loynes Drive and Pacific Coast Highway/State Route (SR-)1 Post Mile (PM) 1.43 within Caltrans right-of-way, as well as to perform traffic control activities in the City of Long Beach, Los Angeles County. The proposed work will include the excavation of 21 feet long by four (4) feet wide rectangle trench for the valve replacement and an excavation of a six (6) feet long by six (6) feet wide by five (5) feet deep squared trench for the operation of the pressure control fitting to isolate gas flow. Long Beach Utilities Department, Gas and Engineering is requesting a temporary encroachment permit to access Caltrans right-of-way along SR-1 at PM 1.43 to complete the above-mentioned work, as well as to perform traffic control activities. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 60-inches, a maximum width of 60-inches and a length of 27 linear feet. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
