Document Description
The Project is a request to permit a Revision to the Plante! Nurseries Development Plan, Case No. 08DVP-00000-00007. The Revision will allow expansion of the permitted nursery operation onto the eastern 77-acre portion of the lot. The expansion will Include 1,596,480 square feet of new structural development, including one 24,000-square-foot germination building; up to 13 pre-fabricated greenhouses for a total of 1,572,480 square feet; a 437,000-cubic-foot stormwater retention/detention facility; a 1.3-million-gallon Irrigation water storage and recycling facility; a water filtration and recirculation facility with four 250,000-gallon water storage tanks; 107,897 sf of additional landscaping; and new parking areas and internal access
paths. The proposed expansion of operations on the eastern portion of the property includes the following additional equipment: 416 additional Holland Heaters (Model HHB120); one 0.4 MM Btu Raypack Hi Delta Boiler; three All-Terrain Vehicles; 10 Propane-Fueled Forklifts; one Yard Mule; and two 0.5-MMBtu Heaters. Operational staffing of the expansion area would require an additional 10 full-time employees. Hours of operation for the expansion area would be the same as existing operations: Monday to Friday, from 6:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., year-round. The Project wlll be
completed in two stages. The first stage will include all grading and infrastructure for the additional greenhouses (e.g., water and drainage lines); the construction of the germination building; the water and irrigation-related structures; and the first four greenhouses. The second stage will involve the installation of additional greenhouses on an as-needed basis, with an estimated two per year. Total construction is expected to last for approximately 5 years (62 months).
