Document Description
Caltrans proposes to upgrade Transportation Management Systems (TMS) elements, which include ramp meters and traffic signals along the I-8 from postmiles T0.4 to R21.9. The scope of work would include replacing existing ramp meters, traffic signals, conduits, conductors, controllers, cabinets, and vehicle detection loops. These upgrades would also include installing APS push buttons, changing pedestrian signals to countdown pedestrian signals, and installing foundations for ramp meters and traffic signals. Ramp meter upgrades include relocating the ramp limit line, replacing existing guardrail, and grading for new guardrail installations. Other assets were identified as needing upgrades within the project limits. All work will occur within the Caltrans ROW.
