The City of San Diego conducted an environmental review which determined that the project meets the categorical exemption criteria set forth in CEQA State Guidelines, Section 15303 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures), which allows for the construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures, such as the park amenities proposed by the project; 15304 (Minor Alterations to Land), which allows minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation, including the hardscaping and minor trenching proposed by the project, that does not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees; and where the exceptions listed In Section 15300.2 would not apply.
