Document Description
In response to damage caused by the 2025 Eaton Fire, the proposed project involves replacing damaged drainage and structural components along Santa Anita Canyon Road south of MM 1.20 located within the City of Arcadia. The fire burned and destroyed the existing 30-inch plastic culvert pipe and severely damaged the adjacent retaining walls, inlet structure, and manhole. The scope of work includes removing and replacing the remaining PVC pipe, the damaged manhole, the inlet and portions of retaining wall with foundation. The culvert will be replaced with fire-resistant materials—specifically a 30-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) and corrugated steel pipe (CSP) in accordance with Highway Design Construction will include excavation to a maximum depth of 10 feet, installation of the new culvert, backfilling, and trench paving. The estimated earthwork includes 245 cubic yards of cut and 235 cubic yards of fill, with native material as needed. All work will be conducted within right of way; no acquisitions are required. There are no tree removals for this project. Utility conflicts are currently unconfirmed but not anticipated.
