Document Description
The total treatment area is 54.2 acres separated into seven units. Units 1 and 2 have increasingly steep (>75%) south facing slopes, while units 3-7 have gentle slopes. The overall objective is to increase fire resiliency and forest health. Unit 1: 1.9 acres; Remove ladder fuels and most small to medium (<16" DBH) diameter stems. Unit 2: 1.6 acres; Remove ladder fuels and most small (<8" DBH) diameter trees. Unit 3: 0.9 acres; Removal of ladder fuels and most small to medium (<16" DBH) diameter trees. Unit 4: 0.2 acres; Reduce ladder and ground fuels. Unit 5: 0.9 acres; Reduction of ladder and ground fuels, only light treatment required. Unit 6: 0.7 acres; Reduce ladder and ground fuels. Unit 7: 48 acres; 30 cages will be constructed and placed to protect naturally occurring seedlings. All project-generated slash will be piled and burned.
