Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-VEN-57669-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison (Permittee), as represented by Victoria Parsons.
The project consists of removing the top portion of four existing deteriorated utility poles and two anchors, installing 14 corrugated steel caissons, installing 12 new wooden utility poles, installing two new composite utility poles, installing 22 new anchors, and the pulling of wires to the new poles. Project activities will result in 1.472-acres of temporary impacts and 0.002-acre of permanent impacts to the Cuyama River channel. Access for the installation of the new pole requires 3,025 linear feet of overland travel, which requires the crushing of channel vegetation associated with vehicle and equipment travel. This crushing of channel vegetation includes temporary impacts to scale broom scrub, Sandbar willow thickets, and unvegetated riverbed. The project also includes the remediation of all project areas, including the regrading of channel areas back to their pre-project contours, removal of project generated wastes, and the restoration of channel ecology and morphology upon completion of the project.
