Document Description
The proposed project will provide parking and infrastructure for a recreational site located adjacent to the future California Indian Heritage Center in West Sacramento. The project will provide basic public amenities to site visitors. The proposed project work will include a shade structure, a gathering space, paths of travel, boulders and seating, concrete pads, utilities, and signage. Prior to the construction of the proposed project, two (2) geotechnical borings will be performed on the State Parks property, away from the toe of the levee.

The Project consists of the construction and location of a limited number of new, small facilities or structures; it consists of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees; and consists of basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource, and is included as "Construction of park facilities, such as restrooms and small parking lots, "Trail construction or realignment" and Soils and structural engineering tests" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR Section 15300.4.
