CAL FIRE would provide funding to the Bureau of Land Management to conduct manual and mechanical fuel reduction activities to improve forest health and resilience on up to 889 acres on the Butte Creek and Larabee Buttes parcels managed by the Bureau of Land Management in Humboldt County. Treatments include mechanical and manual thinning, piling, and prescribed burning. These treatments are expected to reduce wildfire risks to local resources and community members, promote native plant and wildlife species, and improve forest resiliency.

The proposed project was reviewed in its entirety under the Butte Creek and Larabee Buttes Hazardous Fuels Reduction and Fire Resiliency Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act – Fuels Breaks
