Document Description
Caltrans proposes to install two sets of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) on State Route 185 at post mile 5.88 in Alameda County. The purpose of the project is to enhance pedestrian safety at this intersection in response to a public request. The intersection is directly in front of a senior center and the crosswalk spans numerous traveled lanes and is unsignalized. The two sets of RRFBs will be installed back-to-back on the same post as the existing pedestrian warning signs. The signs will be tied into an existing electrical system. Construction is proposed to begin in June 2026.
