Document Description
Caltrans proposes to repair five (5) culverts using cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining on SR 54 at various locations from 0.2 miles west of the Sweetwater Road overcrossing to 0.1 miles east of the Briarwood Road overcrossing in San Diego, CA. This project will not require temporary construction easements, permits to enter, or permanent acquisitions. This project will include shoulder, lane, and/or ramp closures to allow sufficient space for the contractor to access the culvert end treatment (AKA drainage inlet, etc.). No detours are required for this project. Work adjacent to the culvert end treatments will be limited to workers on foot with hand tools only. Construction equipment will be parked on the paved area and is limited to a vactor truck to clean the culverts, a CCTV/Cure truck for video and curing of culvert, and a service truck for unrolling liner. No construction equipment is utilized on CIPP projects, and no grading will be performed. Signs are limited to Temporary Construction Area Signs, which will be placed in the vicinity of the culvert work and will not be installed in paved nor unpaved area. All work will occur within Caltrans right-of-way.
