Document Description
This is a director’s order emergency project to install centerline rumble strips on State Route 33 in Kern County between post miles 11.5 and 14.5. The existing rumble strips were overlooked or paved over, and an emergency contract is needed to install centerline rumble strips to avoid the failure or threat of failure to the transportation system and the traveling public. Centerline rumble strips alert drivers that they are drifting out of their lane, preventing cross-over crashes. All work will be performed within the existing Caltrans right-of-way.
