Document Description
Daniel Lockwood is proposing to construct a new Type “D” residential driveway within the California Department of Transportation’s (Caltrans) right-of-way along the westbound lane of State Route 299 in Shasta County at post mile 31.446 in the community of Bella Vista. The new driveway would service a nearby single-family residence. Other proposed improvements within the right of way would include removal of an existing fence and reconstructing an existing roadside ditch. Caltrans will issue an encroachment permit (02-25-6-RS-0223) to allow the proposed improvements to occur within the right of way of State Route 299.

The California Department of Transportation has determined that the project is categorically exempt in accordance with Section 15303 (New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) Class 3 — Construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures from one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. The project would not have a significant effect on the environment.
