Document Description
Amendment 1: Reconstruct sidewalk to mitigate safety concerns caused by tree root intrusion and asphalt degradation, as well as close gaps along pedestrian walking paths adjacent to Harry Bridges Memorial Park. The project involves replacing heaving or damaged sidewalk segments with new 4-inch-thick Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) sidewalks, clearing existing grass walking paths, and installing new curb ramps, ADA-compliant truncated domes, and striping for a pedestrian crossing. The project will also reconstruct the eastern parking lot to mitigate safety hazards for both pedestrians and vehicles. The project involves replacing existing asphalt pavement with 3.5-inch-thick asphalt concrete, replacing damaged storm drain pipes, removing non-functional light poles, installing new solar-powered lighting, installing new PCC bus bay including shelters, benches, trash receptacles and signage, and installing new curbs, ADA-compliant truncated domes, and new striping and signage for bike paths, vehicular traffic, and pedestrian areas.
