Document Description
San Gabriel County Water District proposes to replace approximately 230 linear feet of leaking pipe located along Saxon Avenue and within Caltrans right-of-way under Interstate (I-)10 at Post Mile (PM) 25.12 in the City of Rosemead, Los Angeles County. The proposed work will include the installation a 12-inch carrier pipe within a 26-inch casing pipe using jack and bore techniques. The casing pipe will be installed approximately 13 feet six (6) inches below the track foundation to minimize the integrity of surrounding infrastructure. The abandoned main line on the west on-ramp of the San Gabriel 10 freeway will be filled with controlled low-strength material and a concrete plug will be constructed. San Gabriel County Water District is requesting a temporary encroachment permit to access Caltrans right-of-way along I-10 at PM 25.12 to complete the abovementioned work, as well as to perform traffic control activities. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 168-inches, a maximum width of 26-inches and a length of 230 linear feet. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
