The project is categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15301 (Class 1 - Existing Facilities) and Section 15303 (Class 3 - New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures) in that the project consists of resurfacing an existing paved basketball court and adding a new basketball hoop and new striping for full-court basketball, two pickleball courts, hopscotch and four-square areas, and a bike/walking path along the outside of the court in an existing public park. There will be no expansion of the footprint beyond the existing paved area. The project also involves restoration or rehabilitation of deteriorated or damaged structures and facilities to meet current standards of public health and safety.
