The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will issue an encroachment permit to allow the applicant, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) to detach and reattach the aerial wires crossing West Side Fwy (Route 5) and W Lerdo Highway to replace all insulators and hot & cold hardware on 2 utility structures, #136/561 (35.5017, -119.5334), outside of Caltrans Right of Way and 526 feet from the edge of traveled way at postmile 62.61; and #137/562 (35.4992, -119.5315), outside of Caltrans Right of Way and 538 feet from the edge of traveled way at postmile 62.42. No new infrastructure, construction, modifications of existing facilities, soil disturbance, or vegetation disturbance is being done or authorized within the Interstate right-of-way.
