Document Description
Project proposes to conduct geotechnical investigations in the Irvine Finch Campground at Bidwell-Sacramento River State Park to identify soil conditions in locations where future campsites, restrooms and additional support facilities are proposed for construction. Work will use a truck-mounted drill rig to excavate up to twelve (12) 4-8 in. diameter by up to 30-ft deep borings. Drill cuttings will be spread on the surface, in the vicinity of the borings and there will be minor surface disturbance in drive path and working space areas. In addition to the borings, geoarchaeological investigations will be conducted utilizing a tractor-mounted backhoe to excavate 3-ft wide by 9-ft long by up to 10-ft deep exploratory trenches.
