Document Description
CAL FIRE would provide funding to the Kashia Band of Pomo Indians to implement tribal wildfire resilience treatments within the Stewarts Point Rancheria in northwest Sonoma County to manage their ancestral lands. Treatments include manual and mechanical fuel reduction, cultural and prescribed burning, and pesticide use, including herbicide application, to establish a series of shaded fuel breaks. These treatments aim to serve California Native American Tribes and advance wildfire resilience, forest health, and cultural use of fire while preserving natural habitat linkages and protecting the watershed.
