Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-ALA-53129-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Craig Geldard/Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). The Project is limited to the maintenance and construction of boardwalks in wetlands and other aquatic environments. Boardwalk maintenance at Locations 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8 will consist of replacing and/or removing an existing boardwalk that provides access to a given tower location. New boardwalk construction at Locations 1 and 4 will occur where there is no existing boardwalk to a given tower location.

Reasons for Exemption
The Class 2 exemption applies to the 6 boardwalk maintenance projects because they involve the replacement of existing boardwalks on the same sites and will have the same purpose and capacity as the boardwalks replaced. The Class 3 exemption applies to the 2 projects involving the construction of new boardwalks because the new boardwalks can reasonably be interpreted to be small structures that are limited in number.
