Reasons for Exemption
Proposed repairs to the existing seawall foundations within the Mandalay Bay community will not involve the expansion of existing structures. Seawall foundations to be repaired to avoid structural failure and to maintain the integrity of the seawall. City and Agency Staff have determined that the project is categorically exempt from the CEQA, pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15061 (b)(3) - Common Sense Exemption. Section 15061 (b)(3) states that a project is exempt from CEQA if it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity in question may have a significant effect on the environment
