Document Description
The Burrel Paving Project will consist of repaving existing parking areas and parking lot drive lanes around the General Services Agency building. These areas are deteriorated and in need of repaving and will be repaved to match the existing pavement profile. The repaving will include the removal of the existing deteriorated asphalt concrete and the compaction of existing aggregate base or replacement of aggregate base in select areas. Once the existing paving demolition/removal is complete the new asphalt concrete paving will be installed along with a new retaining trash receptacle enclosure. The existing curbs, gutters and landscaping will not be disturbed. The beneficiaries of the Project include employees that work for Tulare County and citizens that conduct business with County offices.

This action is consistent with Class 1 Section 15301, Existing Facilities (c), as activities associated with the Project include existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities (this includes road grading for the purpose of public safety), and other alterations such as the addition of bicycle facilities, including but not limited to bicycle parking, bicycle-share facilities and bicycle lanes, transit improvements such as bus lanes, pedestrian crossings, street trees, and other similar alterations that do not create additional automobile lanes. This action is also consistent with Class 2 Section 15302, Replacement or Reconstruction (c), as activities associated with the Project will include replacement of existing facilities with negligible or no expansion of capacity. As such, Sections 15301 and 15302 are applicable and appropriate for this Project.
