Reasons for Exemption
Class 4 exemptions consist of minor public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve the removal of healthy mature scenic trees. Class 6 exemptions consist of basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in serous or major disturbance to an environmental resource. The project will not involve the removal of healthy mature scenic trees. The wells and river stage monitoring points will be incorporated into the larger basin groundwater elevation monitoring program to assess groundwater conditions. The action areas have been reviewed for sensitive resources and the project will not have a significant effect on biological or cultural resources such as threatened or endangered species or their habitats, sensitive vegetation communities, tribal lands, or tribal cultural resources. The project has no potential to have a significant effect on the environment.
