Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a Field Maintenance project to clear six (6) irrigation ditches that pass under the highway system. Work will occur at five locations along State Route (SR) 33 at Postmiles (PM) 5.577, 13.94, 16.54, 23.43, & 24.83 in Stanislaus County and at one location along SR 132 at PM 2.6 in San Joaquin County. The scope of work includes vegetation removal and utilizing a skid steer and tunnel mucker to clear accumulated debris and sediment. All work will be done within Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of the project is to remove sediment, debris, and vegetation that have accumulated underneath these high-flood-risk ditches. The project is needed to improve water flow through the irrigation ditches to prevent flooding/damage to the highway system and adjacent private properties.
