Document Description
The project proposes to install two new identical 2-bedroom 1-bath wooden cabins on the north side of Mather Road, approximately 350 feet west of the intersection of Evergreen Road and Mather Road and 50 feet east of the existing Nurse's Cabin. Each cabin would be rectangular in plan, approximately 18-foot wide by 277 foot long, with a separation distance of about 20 feet between the two structures. The maximum excavation to accommodate the cabins would be 1.5 feet below native ground surface. A hot water closet would be built on the west side of each building. A concrete porch slab (landing) would be laid in front of each structure, The structures would be constructed consistent with the rustic aesthetics of surrounding buildings as well as compatible but differentiated from the historic buildings within the historic setting. The exterior of the proposed cabins would consist of horizontal cedar panels for its sidings and the windows would have similar wood sash frames. The medium-sloped front gable roof would have a cedar trim and would be constructed of asphalt and grey shingles. The maximum height of the structures would be 15 feet, and consistent with the height of other cabins. Water, sewer and electrical service would be provided at the cabins.
