Document Description
Department of Water Resources Project Geology and Terracon Drilling will drill fifteen rock core borings at Del Valle Dam as part of the Phase 2 investigation into the stability of the Conservation Outlet Works (COW) and Flood Control Outlet Works (FCOW). Drilling will be done using a track-mounted drill rig placed by crane and truck-mounted drill rig. The carbide bit used for coring will be cooled by clear water circulated down the casing. Core samples will be logged and transport by a DWR Geologist. Select core holes may have oriented inclinometer casing or a piezometer installed upon completion. All work is within the DWR right-of-way.
