Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a project to
significantly improve driver awareness by removing existing stop signs and installing red
flashing beacons at each stop sign at the intersection of State Route (SR) 33 and
Vernalis/ SR 132 connector ramp in San Joaquin County. No additional right of way
acquisition or utility relocation is anticipated. The purpose of this project is to improve
driver awareness of cross traffic at the intersection. The project is needed to reduce the
number and severity of broadside collisions.
