Document Description
A Pedestrian and Bike Safety Project on routes I-5, I-8, SR 78, and SR 163 in San Diego County at various locations. Project is needed to increase the safety of the traveling public along ramps, connectors, and highway segments within Caltrans right of way. Project work consists of installing sign panels and posts, placing striping and pavement markings, channelizers, and rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFB’s). Work on SR 78 consists of the addition of crosswalks to one intersection. No work will occur outside the pavement.

This project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination. Caltrans will be conducting minor alterations to existing highway segments by installing pedestrian and bike safety measures.
