Document Description
This project is a director’s order emergency contract to repair concrete bridge girders at Avenue 184 Overcrossing, Bridge #46 0192, that spans State Route 99 at post mile 23.49 in Tulare County. The scope of work includes removing unsound concrete and patching with an approved material, epoxy-injecting cracks on both sides of the bridge, removing the damaged fiber reinforced polymer and reapplying to the bottom of the girder, installing a temporary detour using an existing ramp and paving a detour road on private land through a temporary construction easement, and installing a temporary signal for traffic control on Avenue 184 Overcrossing for one-way traffic. The purpose of this emergency contract is to repair damage caused when a tractor-trailer struck the bridge while pulling a large piece of heavy equipment. This project is needed to avoid the failure or threat of failure to the transportation system and to prevent or mitigate the loss or impairment of life, health, property, or essential public services.
