Document Description
The County proposes to remove an existing one-lane substandard bridge and replace it with a two-lane bridge built on an alternate alignment. The replacement bridge would have two 11-foot lanes and two 4-foot shoulders for a total clear roadway width of 30 feet, and would cross the creek with a single-span concrete box girder supported by reinforced concrete abutments. Retaining structures would be built along the west side of the bridge at the north approach roadway to minimize the take of farmland for new right-of-way, and at the south approach roadway to minimize the extent of embankment fill. The Project would remove the existing bridge following completion of the replacement bridge. Additionally, scour countermeasures would be implemented to stabilize the south creek bank and to protect the new replacement bridge.
