Document Description
The CFB proposes to deploy a single Iceberg in Mill Bay offshore of CFB's wastewater treatment plant. This deployment will test the Iceberg and its new technology to produce and deliver desalinated water to the CFB without the need for any electricity from shore to power pumps and other similar systems typically required by seawater reverse osmosis systems. The pilot project will allow for the collection of empirical data from within California waters that could be used to inform the design and permitting of a future, utility-scale array of Icebergs to augment the CFB water portfolio. The State Lands Commission action is an approval of a 2-year General Lease – Public Agency Use through August 21, 2027.
