The purpose of the project is to restore the roadway on Interstate 5 to a condition that requires minimal maintenance.
The project consists of the rehabilitation of Interstate 5 through repaving activities, structural repairs, drainage improvements, culvert replacements, and construction of appurtenant infrastructure. Culvert replacements at two locations will result in impacts to waters of the state.
At postmile 61.89, project activities include cut and cover replacement of an 18" diameter, 86' long corrugated steel pipe with a 24" diameter, 86' long corrugated steel pipe culvert. A flared end section will also be installed. The impacted water body is an unnamed tributary of the Sacramento River.
At postmile 1.44, project activities include an in-kind replacement of a 24" diameter, 146' long corrugated steel pipe culvert and installation of a flared end section. The impacted water body is an unnamed tributary of the Sacramento River.
