Document Description
On June 16,2026, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (Board) approved the following actions for the County, acting through the Department of Parks and Recreation related to the previously approved Baldwin Lake and Tule Pond Restoration Project (Project) Delegated authority to the Director of LA County Parks to execute a Funding, Use and Maintenance Agreement and a Youth Employment Plan. Acting on behalf of the County of Los Angeles as a responsible agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Board also found the actions to be within the scope of the Mitigated Negative Declaration adopted by the Board, acting on behalf of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District as lead agency, when the project was approved on March 17, 2026, adopted an MMRP and found that there are no further findings under CEQA are necessary. The approved Project consists of the removal of sediment from Baldwin Lake (Lake) and Tule Pond (Pond), installation of liner and aeration units at the Lake to improve the aquatic ecosystem, realign one storm drain outlet and improve three existing storm drain outlets to minimize erosion; restore the Lake's historic retaining wall for historic preservation, install a new boat launch and improve/replace landscaping around the Lake and Pond.
