Document Description
The Project proposes a resolution of support for the Mission Bay Park Improvement Program. This Improvement Program consists of an Implementation Framework, associated Preliminary Engineering Reports, and associated technical studies to support improvements within the Mission Bay Park Improvement Zone, consistent with Section 55.2 of the City of San Diego Charter. The Improvement Zone encompasses the 4,235-acre Mission Bay Park, along with additional areas in all directions. The Improvement Zone is located within the Mission Bay, Mission Beach and Ocean Beach Community Plan Areas in the City of San Diego, and bounded by the community of Pacific Beach to the north, the community of Ocean Beach to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and Interstate 5 (I-5) to the east. The proposed project is a Program that is intended to address issues related to water quality and water circulation improvements, habitat improvements, and visitor-serving improvements. The Program includes the implementation of the following elements: Wetland and Water Quality Restoration, Upland Habitats and Preserves Expansion, Shoreline restoration, Restoration of Seawall Bulkhead, Bicycle and Pedestrian improvements, Deferred maintenance, Signage Update.
