Document Description
A Sacramento County Board of Supervisors review for three Williamson Act Contract Amendments (69-AP-023.2, 69-AP-023.6 and 69-AP-023.5) to allow Commercial Solar Facilities and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as compatible uses within the three Williamson Act Contracts. Approval of the amendments will allow for the establishment of a SMUD renewable energy generation facility across three agricultural properties in the Agricultural - 160 Acres (AG-160) and Flood Combining (F) zoning districts.
The proposed SMUD renewable energy generation facility (SMUD Facility) will include construction of PV solar panels, a BESS, a substation, and new upgraded distribution lines to interconnect the project to SMUD's existing distribution system. SMUD, as Leady Agency, prepared an Environmental Impact Report; SMUD approved the SMUD Facility project and certified the Final Environmental Impact Report on 9/18/2025.
