Document Description
The California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) proposes to implement a new trail in zone 3 at Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA) under the process outlined in the Prairie City SVRA Road and Trail Management Plan (RTMP) approved in 2024. The new trail system would convert a space from open riding with no designated trail systems to a designated trail route for All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and Motorcycles (MXs) while providing protection to surrounding vegetation. Project-level review has been completed, and staff has determined that the project is covered under the Prairie City SVRA RTMP initial study and Negative Declaration, with the adoption of specific Standard Project Requirements and Mitigation Measures from the RTMP (CEQA Guidelines 15168) and implementation of the project description.
