Reasons for Exemption
The proposed land acquisition by the Pioneer Union Elementary School District for a future elementary school is exempt from CEQA review because it does not involve any immediate development or physical alterations to the site and therefore has no potential for environmental impact at this stage. Additionally, the acquisition aligns with the City of Hanford's General Plan, i ncluding applicable land use designations and school siting criteria. The acquisition is consistent with a previously certified Environmental Impact Report for the City of Hanford 2035 General Plan and no further review is required at this state. The project's development is contemplated in the Fargo Village Mixed Use Development EIR (SCH# 2024080949).
