Document Description
To replace the headgate at South Sutter Water District’s Main Canal Diversion Structure with three Rubicon SlipMeters (slide gates) and to install Supervisory Control Data Acquisition equipment for remote monitoring and control of the new gate structure. The proposed work will retrofit the headgate at the Main Canal Diversion Structure in order to accept the slide gates, and will include demolishing the existing radial gate and building three newly constructed, reinforced concrete bays capable of accepting the slide gates on top of the existing concrete bay. The new slide gates will then be placed in the reinforced bays. The concrete bays will be set inside a new wall that will be constructed approximately 23 feet downstream of the existing radial gate. The new wall will be doweled into the existing structure to prevent any sliding or movement. The SlipMeter frames will then be set in place using stainless steel anchor bolts, as recommended by Rubicon. A catwalk will be erected about two to three feet above the existing structure and anchored into the top of each wall using stainless steel anchor rods that will be epoxied. A small solar array, placed on top of the new gate structure, will be installed to provide power to the new headgate equipment.
