Document Description
Approval of Permit No. 20051, under California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Article 3, Section 6, for work within an adopted plan of flood control: To remove and replace the existing Kern River Hatchery siphon and pipeline operated by California Department of Fish and Wildlife to supply water necessary for hatchery operations. The project includes building a temporary coffer dam for demolishing and removing the existing inlet, removing the old above ground pipeline, constructing a new intake structure that includes a 10-foot-wide settling basin, a concrete incased connection to a new 42-inch, high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, and an underground siphon pipeline in the same alignment and locations, upgrading the existing pump vault, and upgrading the diversion structure and an outlet structure from the open ditch to a new underground pipe. The inlet area will have stairs leading to a concrete pad with a 10-foot-tall chain link fence parallel to the steps and a 5-foot-tall chain link fence parallel to the river.
