Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-SOL-57090-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority, as represented by Chad Mason. The Project includes removal and replacement of an existing gangway, passenger float, and associated piles of the existing ferry terminal to extend the terminal 200 feet further into the Napa River. The purpose of reconfiguring WETA’s Vallejo Ferry Terminal is to reduce the need to perform maintenance dredging activities which are necessary to maintain safe operation of the ferry service. The reconfiguration is expected to reduce dredging maintenance activities from every four years to every 20 years. The Project will occur in one construction season, except for geotechnical borings, with in-water work occurring August 1 to November 30. Ferry service will continue through construction via placement of a temporary ferry terminal (passenger float) in the same location it is placed for dredging maintenance activities previously covered under Streambed.
