Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed
Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification Number SAC-62863-R2, pursuant to
section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Sacramento County.
The project is limited to a culvert extension within Strong Ranch Slough that is part of the street
widening required to accommodate bike lanes on either side of Arden Way. The existing double
box (cell) culvert will be extended 12 feet northward using cast-in-place. Each culvert cell is
approximately 9 feet wide and 7 feet high. The construction will involve the grading of the
channel prior to laying new foundation support for the overhead bridge/culvert expansion. The
new culvert extensions will maintain the same alignment as the existing channel. Class IV rock
slope protection (RSP) will be placed for a distance of 8 feet beyond the constructed culvert
extension end, at a depth of 2.5 feet with fabric underneath. The RSP will extend across the
creek to the top of the slope of both banks and cover approximately 450 square feet.
