Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-ALA-55940-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, the project Applicant, Ramya Sankar/City of San Leandro.
The purpose of the project is to implement a modular nitrification system to treat ammonia in secondary-treated wastewater and transform a 6.9-acre retention pond at the wastewater treatment facility into a multi-benefit treatment wetland to further purify effluent before it is discharged into San Francisco Bay. The project activities subject to the Streambed Alteration Agreement are limited to modification of an existing outfall from the detention basin into a tidal channel leading to San Francisco Bay and trenching and placement of pipes that cross a land bridge over an existing culvert of a freshwater channel.
